Amazon Web Services

"From the Abernathy-Utterback model we see that AWS was a pioneer in the process innovation of managing the IT infrastructure.  From its origins, which dealt mainly with providing compute and storage capability to the present where it has expanded its offerings to databases, IoT, etc. it still serves as an easier way to do things."

ClassPass

"Within Christensen and Raynor’s “job to be done” framework, ClassPass can extract value from the fragmented fitness industry by providing a benefit not only to consumers (demand-side), but also to studio owners (supply-side). This was a radically different take on the traditional idea of gym memberships works because of the de-commoditization in the industry, where the components are getting better and better."

Space x

"In the context of Christensen’s model for disruptive innovation, reusable launch systems are still in the infancy stage of development, but are projected to surpass traditional (expendable) launch methods due to their significant cost savings..."

Adobe CLoud

"Adobe Systems is one of the biggest software developers in the world, known for making the premiere tools for digital media creation. Founded in 1982, Adobe has traditionally offered boxed software products - single user licenses - targeted at the high end professionals.  In 2013, in what was then considered a questionable and risky decision, Adobe announced the transition of their highly regarded Creative Suite product line (which includes programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) to a subscription-based, digitally distributed platform called Creative Cloud."

This course was great and Professor was super engaged, interested, and interesting. Really happy to have taken this course

Loved the course and the structure of the classes. Great topics and great speakers.

Great course!  Provides digestible frameworks and then applies them over a series of industries that are really top of mind for anyone operating in the world of business.

Fantastic course! One of my favorites that I have taken at Georgetown, by far. Even though Professor Saccocio has taught this class 25+ times, it's clear that he adjusts the syllabus and topics to ensure that we are talking about relevant trends and technologies.  Really, really enjoyed this course and wish I could take it again next semester!
